Many Webelos and Bears from Pack 797 participated in Webelos Woods this weekend, held at Bert Adams Scout Reservation’s Camp Jamison. The boys practiced doing things for themselves, like setting up camp, cooking, cleaning, etc. rather than having their parents do all the work, an important step toward boy scouting. There were several orienteering activities, as well as a campfire with skits.
The Cub Scouts of Pack 797 attended the district’s Fall Family Camping at Bert Adams Scout Reservation over the weekend. The weather was nearly perfect with hardly a cloud in the sky. The scouts enjoyed many activities, including a pentathlon, archery, a quest, a maze, and bead-making. The event theme was based on Greek mythology with appearances by Zeus, Hermes, Poseidon, and Athena.
The May Pack Meeting was held on May 16, 2011 at Mt. Bethel Elementary School instead of Kennesaw Mountain due to the threat of inclement weather. But, the picnic went on without a hitch. On a rainy Monday night, the Cub Scouts of Pack 797 met at St. Peter & Paul Church in East Cobb. The highlight of the evening were the rank achievement ceremonies held for Tigers, Wolves, Bears and Webelos who earned their rank and badge. Congratulations are due to all the boys for their accomplishments! The evening culminated with the 12 Foot Banana Split. Yummy.
